Len passed away peacefully on October 23rd, aged 82. Len designed, built and raced his own bike at the TT during the 1950's, the 125cc LCH. He was also Chief Scrutineer at the TT for a number of years and rode in the Clasic lap up until 2000. He had a vast knowledge of all things motorcycling and that of mechanical engineering. He will be very sadly missed.

Anyone who braved the darkness and cold of early morning practice will surely remember Len Harfield from his happy disposition even at those early hours, ruling the roost with his rod of iron....
I also remember his racing days and am sad that we have lost yet another stalwart-
