Full grids for Easter showdown
.
The traditional Easter programme of Irish short racing roars into life at Bishopscourt tomorrow with the ISB/.Enkalon Trophy meeting in Co Down.

Promoted by the MCRRCI and Killinchy clubs, practice gets under way tomorrow at 9am with the Nutt Travel-backed ‘Sail to Pole’ ISB qualifying session due at approximately 11.45am and racing from 2.30pm.

The first of three championship races for each class will take place tomorrow, with the feature 36th Enkalon Trophy race in association with Adelaide Insurance Services taking top billing on the main Saturday race schedule.

All classes have full entry lists, with William Dunlop also lining up in the Moto3 and D&GW 250GP races in addition to the Superbike and Supersport events on Wilson Craig’s Honda machines.

His team-mate, Aussie Cameron Donald, is bidding to retain the Enkalon Trophy after he dominated the Easter meetings in 2011.

Donald’s rivals this weekend include David Haire, Jamie Hamilton, Stephen Thompson, Matthew Percy, Denver Robb, Nico Mawhinney, Lee Johnston, Ryan Farquhar, Richard Rea and Brian McCormack.

The Enkalon Trophy has been won by many famous names since Ray McCullough lifted the coveted silverware back in 1977 and Enkalon chairman David Weir thanked Adelaide for its support of the event.

“We are delighted to be back in 2012 for the 36th Enkalon race this year in association with Adelaide Insurance. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Adelaide, particularly Sam Geddis, Nichola and her team,” said Weir.

“It is only with their help and support throughout the past year that we are in the position to financially support this prestigious race. I would also like to pass on our thanks to the MCRRCI and the Killinchy club for all their hard work.”

Reigning ISB champion Kirk Jamison misses the event as he recovers from a serious crash at Croft.

On Saturday, warm-up takes place from 9am, with racing from 10.30am. The Enkalon Trophy race is pencilled in for a 1.30pm start.

Admission is £15 (including programme), with children free. Overnight campers invited at no extra cost.
