Monster Energy Motostar British Championship

Qualifying: Teenage hot-shots dominate the front row of the grid. Kyle Ryde aboard the Metmachex SHR Wilson Craig Aprilia improved on his first session time, in which he was second fastest, on a drying track in the afternoon to take pole. Bradley Ray had to settle for second best, 1.307s down on his SP125/FAB Honda. Luke Hedger ran third fastest on the FPW Luyten Honda with Jordan Weaving on the outside of the row, 2.835s down on the pole starter. William Dunlop starts from the second row just ahead of Philip Wakefield.

Saturday race held over from Brands Hatch: Bradley Ray enjoyed maiden race winning glory in the championship with a daring last corner move to head off the defending champion Kyle Ryde and then win the dash to the line by three quarters of a second.

"I got Kyle back on the last corner - he had come past me, and going into the corner I knew that I had just that one chance to get him. I made the move and made it stick," explained a delighted Ray, adding "It was a really hard race - we were at it all of the way."

Ryde had a gearbox problem. "It wouldn't go into neutral but Brad was setting a good pace. There was a lot of slip-streaming all of the way and it was very fast and he rode very well."

Jordan Weaving took the final podium position ahead of Luke Hedger and Joe Irving.

Triumph Triple Challenge
