Alex Lowes made it a clean sweep in the final free practice session at Silverstone this morning as the WFR Honda rider topped the times for the third time this weekend to head off a late charge from defending champion Tommy Hill whilst Tyco Suzuki's Josh Brookes crashed out unhurt.

Brookes had been leading the times in the early stages of the session ahead of Splitlath Redmond Aprilia's Jakub Smrz and Lowes, but with just over ten minutes remaining the Lincolnshire young gun fired himself to the top of the times and held the position until the chequered flag.




Hill's final lap pushed him up to second in the closing minute of the session onboard the Swan Yamaha as both the defending champion and then Smrz displaced Michael Laverty who dropped to fourth for Samsung Honda. Brookes ended the session fifth following a crash at Stowe with just over ten minutes on the clock; the Tyco Suzuki rider was unhurt in the fall but subsequently dropped down the order.

James Westmoreland was sixth on the second WFR Honda ahead of Shane 'Shakey' Byrne who managed his first string of laps to put himself seventh in the closing stages ahead of team-mate Stuart Easton. Peter Hickman and Luca Scassa rounded out the top ten.
