Graeme Gowland save the best for last as powered his Seton Tuning Yamaha to the top of the times in the closing minutes of a frantic afternoon session for the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship at Brands Hatch.

Gowland headed off the determined Aussie Billy McConnell riding for the Smiths Triumph team, but the Gearlink Kawasaki duo of former champion Alastair Seeley and Ben Wilson psuhed them hard with little more than a tenth of a second separating the top four.

Aussie Jason O'Halloran, who has switched from the Superstock series, ran sixth fastest for Samsung Honda, ahead of former Superstock Champion Richard Cooper and the MarTrain Yamaha duo of Stuart Easton and Glen Irwin.

Scott Smart, who has moved over from riding in MCE BSB, ran 14th fastest on his Oxford TAG Triumph, three places up on William Dunlop riding for Milwaukee Yamaha.
