Title Fighter: Walker drops chunk of time but wants more at Assen

Chris Walker launched up to fourth on the timesheets in the closing minutes on Friday but the Lloyds British GBmoto Racing Kawasaki rider admits there is still work to be done before Datatag Qualifying on Saturday.

Walker was pushing to move up the order and his final sequence of laps saw him move ahead of Dan Linfoot and the Milwaukee Yamaha pairing of Tommy Bridewell and Josh Brookes, but now he is hungry for more. Walker, who has won a World Superbike race at the Dutch circuit, believes they just need to click with the final sector of the track to move closer to the leading contenders in his hunt for a podium return.

Walker said:

"It has been quite tough today really. We haven't done a huge amount of fast laps to say the least, so we have been playing with a few things on the bike, to get a better feeling from it in the faster parts of the track really. The last part of the track is quite alien compared to what we have been used to in the last few rounds of BSB so we are just trying to get a comfortable setting. We found something at the end this afternoon and we dropped a big chunk of lap time, but now we have to turn that into consistency tomorrow and that is what we will be working on overnight."
