Jackson Racing Le Mans Press Release

Jackson Racing had a baptism of fire during the first round of FIM World Endurance Championship run by new promoters Eurosport.

New to the championship and the first 24 hour race the team had entered, the event was always going to prove to be a steep learning curve with both the team and riders aiming to achieve their personal goals along the way.

Everyone involved has worked tirelessly during the last few months in preparation for the opening round.

Qualifying went well for the three Jackson Racing riders John McGuinness, Conor Cummins and Dan Stewart all setting respectable times in there groups.

Race day saw the TT legend John McGuinness start the prestigious race in 23rd position followed by Conor and Dan, the race and pit stops went to plan until nine hours into the race the Honda CBR1000RRSP Fireblade developed an electrical issue which the team worked hard to resolve.

The riders dug deep and were making back the time lost in the unscheduled pit stop until a mechanical issue made us unable to finish the race.

After all the hard work and preparations building up to race day it was with great disappointment that the team made the decision to retire from the race.

We would like to thank the FIM for welcoming us into the championship, the promoters Eurosport, Honda Europe, Dunlop, Solway Slate and Tile, Wilcock Consulting, GB Racing protection, Motul, Maxton Suspension, SBS, Akrapovic, Replicast, HEL, CMS, Artizen, NGK Spark Plugs, Bike Torque Racing, Afam, Bowker Transport, Auto Bodycraft, Promo Signs, Terapin, Team members and Riders that made it possible and we aim to be back stronger and wiser for the next races.

Next up for the team is a test in preparation for the start of our road racing campaign.
