After getting back to winning ways at EuroSpeedway Lausitz (Germany) with Chaz Davies, the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati team is ready to resume action in Magny-Cours (France) for the penultimate European round of the 2016 WorldSBK championship, scheduled for September 30 - October 2.

Davies, who just over a week ago celebrated his fifth win of the season to equal his personal record, is keen to improve his results on the French track after finishing second in Race 2 last year. Davide Giugliano, who unluckily crashed out from second place in wet conditions in Germany, positively underwent a physiotherapy rehabilitation program to recover from a right-shoulder trauma while further scans ruled out any fractures. The Italian is thus ready to resume the positive course that saw him claim a podium in each of the four rounds preceding the German one.

The Aruba.it Racing - Ducati team will take it to the track at 10:15 (CET) Friday for the first free-practice session.

“After a fun experience on four wheels at the TT Cup, I’m ready to get back on my Panigale R, something I’m more familiar with. Last year, in Magny-Cours, we found a setup that granted us a strong pace in the dry. We’ll try to build from that base and also to take advantage of the improved feeling on the bike that allowed us to get back on the top of the podium in Germany. The weather will be unpredictable, but surely we’ll have to lap in the rain at some point. To this end, we learned a lot from the Race 2 debrief at Lausitz, so overall I’m very much looking forward to head out on track.”

“I still feel some pain in the right shoulder, but I was able to follow an intense physiotherapy program that allowed me to recover quite quickly over the past few days, so I hope to get back into full shape in time for FP1. The Lausitz track certainly wasn’t among my favorites, both in terms of layout and tarmac conditions, but the upcoming rounds coincide with some circuits I like much better. I’ve always felt comfortable at Magny-Cours, it’s a fun track with a peculiar layout. The weather could turn into a factor once again, but we’ll be ready for all conditions.”
