I have obtained a copy of Motor Cycling magazine dated June 4, 1953. It’s a truly fascinating read and includes practice results for the 1953 TT races. At that time the TT race programme included Clubman’s races in addition to the International TT races themselves. The Clubman’s races included a 1,000cc class and the fastest practice laps for that class were put in by R Madsen-Mygdal riding a Vincent. Now all TT and MGP fans know that surname well from Dave Madsen-Mygdal’s amazing TT Course achievements but does any forum member know whether these two riders are related?
Richard Madsen Mygdal was an absolute gentleman. He was a frequent visitor to the TT paddock along with his wife, (who's Christian name I forget).
It was indeed Richard who rode in the 1953 Clubmans TT, and he was leading on the first lap, but fell off around Brandywell.
He and his wife were very supportive of Dave's exploits around the Mountain Course.
Sadly missed along with his Grandson.

Chris_Sav's response to my original question included a link comprising an item from the Oxford Mail which included Richard Madsen-Mygdal's wife's name which was Stella.

Thank you, I'm slightly embarrassed that I missed that.
