Ferry-Tickets
I made a reservation for TT 2005 during TT 2004. Now I mailed the IOMSPC when the tickets will come. No answer. Has anybody of you get his tickets soon or any other information? It's now time for me to book the channel-ferries.
Thanks
Michael

Re: Ferry-Tickets
Hi Michael.

My booking slip shows a February date for payment
as it did last year. The tickets follow after that.
I dont know if this helps?

Re: Ferry-Tickets
Michael, the Steam Packet Company will write to you shortly (there has been a delay this year) and let you know how much you still have to pay (your booking is just provisional at this stage). You then have until 28th February to get the rest of the fare to them and, once this is received, they will then post the tickets to you.

Re: Ferry-Tickets
As yet i have not booked, i am debating whether to go or not, but the whole thing is a RIP OFF, i could go to a moto gp , for far less, does this make sense?

Re: Ferry-Tickets
Godfrey, I don't think we can compare a motogp with the TT, as much of a rip off it is getting to the IOM the TT is UNIQUE without doubt.
However there are more and more bikers, spectators etc who are more concerned with cost than spectacle and I'm sure by looking at the Moto gp calendar, which i haven't , it would be possible to take a fortnight off work, take in 2 (euro)moto gps and maybe either a wsb, european championship round, or even one of the National events in a european country. Get to see most of europe, do a lap or two of the old nurburgring circuit (thats your mad sunday)and I bet it wouldnt cost much, if any more than a fortnight on the IOM?
Food for thought?

Re: Ferry-Tickets
Is that not a case of paying your money and taking your choice?
I know what my choice would be

I think you would all love it. Go for it. You're only here once...well, in your case, clearly more than once...hope you're getting stronger every day.

Re: Ferry-Tickets
I have had this annual argument with myself for some years!
Quite simply, can I/we afford it?
Is it value for money?
Could i have more fun with the money?
I have almost always come up with the same
answer since 1967!
Since I met Pamela in 2000, she has renewed my
love for the Island
and now I have to go more than ever!

If only to see the folk at the Sulby, or Peter the scouse marshall!

So many wonderful memories over nearly 40 years.
As you lot all know!
However, as my retirement age approaches, I know it will be harder to afford.
Mind you, the Universe has found me the money, so far.
Lets hope the racing goes from strength to strength and we all keep on going..
