Clerk of the Course says more practice may be needed on Saturday

The Clerk of the Course says plans are already in place to race on Sunday if the weather doesn't improve.

Tonight's practice has been cancelled due to the weather conditions, with two separate sessions now scheduled for tomorrow.

However, the forecast suggests there could be further disruption to come over the next couple of days.

Gary Thompson confirmed there could be an additional qualifying session on Saturday rather than racing.

No surprise there

I think this was inevitable with the current state of the rubbish weather.

In my opinion they're missing a trick with not having early morning sessions these days.

With the amount of marshals needed now, as aposed to the 'old days' early morning practice will never happen again.

Yes, I know, it is safer without the earlies.

I too used to enjoy the early mornings too, I'd get up, watch practice then brekkie after.

when the weather's like it is, it's a difficult one isn't it. Trying to let the island function is a fine balance i guess.

It just seems a shame that fine periods slip through the organisers fingers, nobody to blame, it's just a shame.

The forecast isn't that good for the weekend either, rain forecast from 3pm on Saturday and all morning on Sunday until just after lunch time. Monday onwards looks a lot more promising though, only iffy day is Tuesday.

Whatever the pros and cons of early morning practice it gave riders a lot more time to practice and learn the course.
And I loved it Icon_lol
