Former TT winner Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle shares his TT secrets with Ross
One of the UK’s most popular stand-up comedians Ross Noble interrupted his recent sold out ‘Things’ tour to experience a lap of the world famous race track on the Isle of Man.
Ross, who was recently voted one of the top 10 greatest stand ups of all time by Channel 4 viewers, was appearing at the Island’s Villa Marina theatre.
The comedian is well known as a bike fan, frequently taking part in track days in the UK and having watched the TT on television was keen to experience the famous 37.73 mile track for himself.
He was initially taken round in a van by former TT winner Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle, a local resident who won the 2004 Lightweight TT before Milky loaned him his R1 Yamaha to do a few laps on his own.
Quayle commented:
“I showed him the course from a rider’s perspective, what riders look for when they are racing, how we identify the racing line and which gears we use on particular corners.”
Ross, reflecting on his lap of the course, commented:
“What an amazing experience. It was fantastic to follow in the footsteps of so many great riders and I’m hoping to go back some day soon and watch the TT itself.”
Ross’s tour runs in the UK until 1st June and on 4th June Ross returns to Sheffield City Hall to host a unique charity event: Ross Noble Presents Riders for Health Comedy Night, a stellar night of comedy in aid of Riders Health (
