SuperFan?
Does anyone remember a race following character known as "Super Fan?"
He has been around the paddocks for some years.
Known for his Davey Crockett hat and shorts?
Well, I bumped into him in te paddock at Thruxton and had a good old chin wag!
I also chatted with a guy flogging Ago gear amongst the tented shops.
We tallked about Ago and Pasolini. The guy said that he will be taking his MV gear to the Island together with a new Ago book.
Well, I had to buy a bright red "MV" fleece, didnt I?
No missing me at TT gatherings now!

That sounds like Ron Burch you are referring to. I met him when I was racing at Scarborough a few years back. He was around all the GP's in the 70's wearing those clothes he wears.
He was in the Cat With No Tail pub one time too (just up the road from me) with John "Spud" Kneale, former Sector Marshal in the Windy Corner area for many years, and a bit of a "Superfan" himself!!!

Last time I spoke to him was at Imola I think it was 1977, he was dressed as an Arab Shiek complete with sandals and no socks.

He could have fooled anyone who did not know him.

The very chap!
We bored each other with tales of the 60s and 70s for agood hour!
Standing in the paddock as all and sundry passed by.
Punctuated by shouts from Ron to various passersby, celebs and others

He was in our awning last weekend at Donington and again this weekend at Thruxton !!! Lol

I too remembered him as an arab sheik, but now he is still wearing his shorts and the Davy Crockett hat.

A real character.

I was tempted to look in at your van during sunday, but it looked a bit busy! I diont get to so many meetings now and it was a bit like old times.
Mind you, there wasnt many transit vans!
I thouroughly enjoyed wandering around watching people working.
Pamela was kept intersted, too.
It was pretty much her first short circuit experience after 5 TT visits.
he was quite clear in her preference!
I have trained her well!
