I think you have taken a very large TT pill there FC.

There is one thing you carn't run away from FC and that is that that all the prices over here go up for TT. It has and will always be a time of cashing in. Alot of people make the money TT week that supports their firms for the rest of the year, that some of this cash may also go into a bit of paint work for their house or shop....... Lol

But things have changed massively for this year and so they should, its a celcebration of the TT, but it should have been a celebration of the races and not the rip off attitude that seems to more prevelent this year. WOnder how many are going to be here next year?
When people say one thing and mean another its called politics, when organisers say one thing and mean another its called a mistake, when the ACU say one thing and mean another its called information.

According to the Economist's Big Mac index the price of a Big Mac in the UK is Pounds 1.99 so that would put the Bushies Burger at Pounds 2.70 at a 36% premium over Great Britain. The Douglas Dog at Pounds 4.75 is a whopping 139% above the UK Big Mac. However this comparison does not take into account the high quality and enormous amount of relish accompanying the Bushies Burger, which for all we know it may well be worth making the crossing to enjoy. My gourmet favorite is the chips (fries) at the Mitre in Kirkmichael.
A pint of COLD beer in Tokyo is around Pounds 2.50; the difference is that it is drinkable. And a Big Mac is Pounds 1.16.
So Pykey I could air mail you a box of Big Macs from Tokyo and you could make a killing on the Promenade. On 100 units that would be a profit of Pounds 71.
Don't worry about the jet laged taste; most of your clients would be too full to know the difference.
Rest in Peace Don Simons 1942 - 2012

Spoke to one of the food vendors today, and he explained that some of the food stalls had put the prices up due to a ByeLaw that says that food cannot be sold on the prom after midnight, this ByeLaw is being enforced by off Island Police. He also explained that most of the vendors make their money when the pubs shut and not being able to sell after midnight and having to pay the rents that are twice as much as last year, has left them with no choice other than to put prices uf to cover expences.

Ah what is happening to the world.......?
Once upon a time, the local bobbie would "reluctantly" accept either a greasy burger, or possibly a donation to the Policeman's Ball Fund, and quietly look the other way. Here, you just negotiate with the Guardia Civil, in folding money!
