Beryl Swain
Beryl, sadly, died very recently. I had tried very hard to find her so she could be properly recognised at this, the 100th anniversary TT. However, I was unsuccessful, and it appears she would not have been able to take part due to infirmity.
She was only 71, but I think had crammed a lot into her life.
There will be a tribute to her, for the early birds, on Five Live radio, at 6.00 am on Sunday, in Brief Lives.

Brief lives
"Brief Lives" is available as a "listen again" item for one week after the original broadcast, in case 06:00 is too early.

Beryl and Gwen will certainly have plenty to talk about up there.

Beryl was the first woman solo rider at the IOM TT on a 50cc in 1962.
Rest in Peace Don Simons 1942 - 2012
