Manslaughter!!!!!
Manx radio announced that the Manx police are collecting evidence and speaking to witnesses in an ongoing manslaughter investigation regarding the tragic events at the 26th milestone.

It reported that it is expected the TT organisers will issue a statement tomorrow.

As someone who is not usually devoid of an opinion I really don't know what to say or think about this situation.

Thanks Alf885 I would have thought Manx radio would be certain of their facts before broadcasting such a disturbing story.

I wonder if they will broadcast a retraction, doubt it somehow.

I just hope that the report is not conveyed to those that have suffered so much without the correction of iomtoday being included. To report such things without verification seems a lot insensitive and a little unprofessional to me. alf

Its an interesting article I guess, but unless the bank has already been dug out, will the bales they are putting in place for MGP not make the track narrower rather than safer? 2 weeks and 4 days, not that I'm counting or anything Lol Lol

I have just read postings on iomtt and I would like to say to Keith 17, that
come on, 16 or 60, with only 'rumours' of what happened that fatal day of this years Senior TT, NO-ONE STOOD A CHANCE OF MOVING AT THEM SPEEDS. That rider was doing over '100?'mph AND it all happened in '3secs?' AGAIN guessing but as a rider, I know it happened VERY FAST.
And I also know that Janice Philips did a 'miracle' AND she did save life that day.
As for the other comment made by 'another' on iomtt about 60 year old marshalling! Well if my 60 year old Mother wasn't as fit as she was that day she wouldn't be alive today never mind marshalling!
IT WAS AN ACCIDENT,only my comment, leave it to the coroner/law to decide.

This discussion is causing distress to the people directly affected, so let's stop now, and, as Gail suggests "leave it to the coroner/law to decide"

I agree - and can that include those who have already decided it was an accident?
