Thanks MV, I especially like the picture of Ray Pickerell being a Trident owner, a bike on which Ray had so much success. Unfortunately I never saw Ray riding. He is fondly remembered by and an Honoray Member of the Trident and Rocket 3 Owners Club. http://www.tr3oc.co.uk/ww10.html

Thanks Alf,

I had that pic turned into a print on metal.
This was presented to Ray at a TT Supporters club do I oranised.
He was a great rider and all round nice bloke.
He always came across as one of the lads.
I saw Ray ride a lot on diferent machines.
Does anyone remember the little Aermacchi that Ray rode at places like Crystal Palace?
Does anyone remember the name written on the fairing?

MV, Keep posting those pics they're fascinating to see. I don't have too many older pics, although my brother has some crackers from the Trans Atlantic Match races of the 70's which I will get him to scan and send over. In the meantime here's one of my personal favourites from 2005, yes I know that's not old but it's a goodish pic and I was stood in the roadside ditch up to my knees in water to get it, its Jun Maeda at Dundrod. His passing left a void that is yet to be filled. I observed Jun over a few years at the TT and his smooth style and ever increasing course knowledge put him on the verge of a podium finish at least. I met him very briefly at Dundrod in 2005 it was refreshing to note that he did display a huge appetite for road racing et al. Sadly missed. Anyway keep posting them pics. alf

He did Pykey, but at times he used a helmet with no markings, and at others just a Benelli badge on the front.

I'm in no position to comment on his style . . . . . .

Cracking photos, Mike - wasn't Ray Breingan an Aussie?

Don Simons, where are you??

Lorenzo Pasolini was unique.
He stood out because of his riding style.
He was known as Renzo!
The exclamation mark suming him up and being essential!
He also wore glasses under his goggles which stood out.
There was a poster for a meeting at Brands, I think the Hutchinson 100 (wrong way round the course) 1968?
It featured a picture of Pasolini at speed, laid over and looking back.
Wish I could find a copy or at least the picture.
He certainly made that big Benelli sing!

His passing in that tragic accident that also claimed Jarno Sarinen robbed us of a character.

Ride on Renzo!
