Tragedy at MGP
It has just been reported on Manx Radio that two riders died following an accident at Ballaspur during this morning's practice session. No names have yet been released.
What a tragic weekend it has been following the loss of Gary Jess on Saturday.

Re: Tragedy at MGP
This is truely terrible news after the tragedy of Gary Jess as well...our sport we love so much has robbed us of another two fine competitors.

My dad was marshalling at Ballaspur this morning and looked non too well when he arrived home. Fortunately for me, I had a late night last night and was not at the session.

On behalf of the Fitzgerald Family may I pass my deepest condolances to the family and friends of the two riders involved.

Mark.

Re: Tragedy at MGP
There are times when our great sport leaves you feeling very sad.
My condolences to the families of the two riders.
Let us also spate a thought for the marshalls and others who have to deal with such incidents.
The sport that gives us so much pleasure and introduces us to such great men (and women!) can take them away too.

Re: Tragedy at MGP
I got talking to Les at his first MGP as we
lived in same town [I now live in Douglas],
he always asked how I was getting on and often
came into the shop I used to work in, although
I didn't know him well I saw in results of BSB
rounds how he was getting on.
He was an appoachable kind of guy and I'm sure
you and the rest of his family and friends will
miss him terribly.
Sorry for late reply but very busy during the MGP.
