This is something ive often wondered about so i thought id ask the question , why do they allow novices in the TT solo races when there's novice races at the manx gp . i thought this was the idea of the novice races and to let you build up experience before going for the TT ? Look at the greats that have won or entered the mgp novice races and then gone onto a great TT career . Fogarty , McCallen , Griffiths , Courtney , Robert Dunlop , Hislop , Lougher , Hedison etc to name but a few .
Someone explain the sense in diving straight into the deep end especially on a road racing course that can bite back so easily ?
Simple Answer
There is no such thing as a 'NOVICE' at either the TT or Manx GP.
Newcomers yes and some riders are quicker and more experience than others, but thats the same in all sports.
yeah i realise that , i did it myself , got 5th in the newcomers on a 250 but i mean novice to the mountain course not total newcomer to racing , so whats the point in having a newcomers race then at the manx gp ?
