This guy really is a top fella. After stopping at Glen Helen and then making his way around to the bungalow, he helps the Airmed crew lift a fellow competitor to the aircraft. Thanks John

Top fella for sure. Really good of him. When he stopped at Glen Helen he played with the wiring harness, got it started and running well, and thought maybe he could get back in the race. Just before he was ready to set off again he was asked for an interview, and did so. According to the Radio at least.
John unexpectedly appeared at the end of the race, after all the competitors were in, and he got a huge ovation from the crowd at the end of the pit return lane.
