Hi All
I’d like to introduce myself: John McKeown from Crosby Liverpool. I signed up to the forum this morning as I’ll be attending not only my first TT but also my first visit to the Island next May. I can’t believe that it’s taken me 62 years to travel 80 miles to a place that I’ve longed to visit.
Well that’s another couple of goals ticked off my bucket list . I’m crossing with my bike on the 29 May from Heysham “Liverpool fully booked” returning to Liverpool 6 June. One of my sons will be joining me for the week-end. I’ve been looking at campsites in Douglas and a friend has recommended St Georges AFC. Does anyone know of this site and if so would they recommend it? I’ve opted for camping as I’ll be on my “Billy” for a lot of the time and thought that there would be a better camaraderie than you’d find in a B&B.
A little bit about me: served 22years in the Army (RAOC Vehicle Specialist) leaving in 1995 as a WO2 and then was employed as a Prison Custody Officer. I now enjoy an active retirement getting in as much biking as I can without upsetting Her-in-Doors too much. I passed my bike test in 1966 on a 49cc Raleigh moped and have ridden all shapes and sizes since I’m currently down to 2 roadworthy bikes a 1982 Honda CX500 Eurosport and 2010 Honda Deauville NT 700 the NT suites my rickety large frame as it’s an easy to handle mid range tourer which ticks all the boxes for me.
Hope to see some of you guys on the road
Cheers John Mac
