Honda 500/4:use of late type Keihin CR carburettors in 2012 Manx Grand Prix

Following a precedent set by other racing organisations, the MMCC have agreed a derogation to the eligibility criteria in respect of the use of late type Keihin “CR” carburettors on Honda 500 four cylinder machines.

In an attempt to encourage entries of these machines the MMCC recognise the benefit to potential entrants in aligning the requirements for the Manx Grand Prix with those in place for other circuit and road racing events in Europe and Ireland.

Hummmmph

If they are allowed for this bike surely allowed for others.

Keihins of the day are available, fair enough very expensive if you really want them.

I thought you could only use 4 cylinder machines " by special arrangement with the club".

This must be what "substantially unaltered" meansConfusedHuhHuhIcon_lol

Only just seen this - I agree that if allowed they should be allowed on any machine if desired. Would suspect this is to encourage the 'works' Davies Honda, which admittedly would be a great addition to the entry.

They were encouraging multi cylinder machines last year though, it just seems to have only become well publicised this year - I personally think it's a good move to bring the rules in line with CRMC and european events etc.
