Rider Lee Vernon injured in Dundrod 150 motorcycling crash

A motorcycle rider has been critically injured in an accident at the Dundrod 150 meeting on Thursday.

Lee Vernon, 24, from Stoke-on-Trent, crashed while on the third lap of the Superbike event at the Rock Crossroads section of the circuit.

A statement from the Dundrod club said that his injuries "are being assessed at the Royal Victoria Hospital".

The Dundrod 150 races were being held in advance of Saturday's main Ulster Grand Prix meeting.

Michael Dunlop was declared the race winner as he led Guy Martin and Conor Cummins at the time of the accident.
