Milwaukee Yamaha's James Ellison posted the fastest time of the day at Brands Hatch in the fourth session as conditions improved at the Kent circuit for the second official MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship test.

The opening sessions took place in wet conditions with the Milwaukee Yamaha team utilising the track time as Josh Waters got his first chance to ride on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit with Ellison improving throughout the afternoon to move fastest.

Rapido Sport Racing Ducati were back on track with Matteo Baiocco as the Italian completed over 40 laps as the team continue their development of the Panigale. Padgetts Honda's Jakub Smrz was able to continue his programme with the team as they continue to push to feature on the 2013 starting grid.

Defending champion Shane 'Shakey' Byrne watched proceedings from the garage as he kept a close eye on the opposition but is preparing for the next two days of official testing at Snetterton. His rival in the 'war for four' Ryuichi Kiyonari completed a handful of laps on the Samsung Honda but was in a buoyant mood ahead of the final tests this week.
