Alastair Seeley won the final race of the British Supersport season but the Carrickfergus rider had to settle for second place in the 2014 series.

Seeley finished the campaign just four points behind Billy McConnell, who secured the title after coming in eighth at Brands Hatch on Sunday.

Glenn Irwin was second, 24 hours after edging out Seeley in the sprint race.

Jordanstown's Andy Reid was another series runner-up after finishing second in the final Superstock 600cc race.

The race was won by Kyle Ryde, who also clinched the championship by eight points from FFX Yamaha rider Reid.

Irwin came in 0.2 seconds ahead of Seeley in Saturday's sprint race and their was a similar gap between the Northern Ireland pair in the feature race on Sunday.

Luke Jones completed the final podium of the season but it was McConnell, down in eighth on his Smiths Triumph, who was celebrating a title triumph.

Graeme Gowland began the race six points ahead of Seeley but he failed to finish and slipped to third in standings, with Irwin fourth.
