Mike Hailwood rode Michael (Mick) Collins Seeley at the 1969 race of the year, there`s a clip on YouTube part one of Hailwood jumping out of the back of the van , Mike Collins is in the blue jumper with glasses. Just a bit of useless information.

I pretty much doubt that the scenery is, as the caption says, Ballaugh. I thought it is Ballig Bridge, but when it was already flattend then, I wonder where the shot was actually taken

I would of said that was Ballacrye.

Snugborough (before Union Mills) was still a fast right left until 1977. I remember racing into the old Snugborough and it was really tight, with high walls either side, totally different to the wide open entrance to Union Mills that we have today.

So there was a jump between QB and Braddan? What puzzles me is that I don't remember seeing a single picture of it and through the history of the TT, one thing that the Togs like is to capture bikes that are airborne.

I was going to say that having looked at it again I think I’m wrong, more likely to be coming out of Crosby past what was the Halfway House/Wagon and Horses pub.
Not sure where Ballagarraghan so is that the same place?

It's about half way between Gorse Lea and Ballacraine

It is Ballagarraghan, the gate post are long gone, but the low wall and barn wall are still there, I only live a few hundred yards away.
The top men still get the front wheel airborne.

Thanks for the information gents! The clipping is part of an article in a German magazine about the German immediate pre-war competitors and general activities, hereby tangling the 'Nazi TT' book. I haven't read it yet , any comment about it would be higly appreciated

Ballagarraghyn is between Gorse Lea and Ballacraine. On this freeze frame in race direction from a film, you can see the tree to the right of the rider on the old picture that's still there. The gate at the old picture is taken away but it was after the white fence on the left just before the building. Picture from 2011. It is 7.4 miles from the starting line.

The cottage nameplate which isnt readable on the photo bears the name,

Ok I understand where you mean now, never was any good at place names!
On a classic, the bike just feels a little light going over there. Just shows how much the course has changed. Makes the speeds they did back then look even more impressive.
