That was it for TT fortnight as the Post TT meeting fell victim to torrential rain.  Aberdare coming up next.

Aberdare Park.  Love this meeting.  Great setting and a fantastic variety of machinery, modern & classic.  You don't tend to get the biggest names these days as unfortunately there's usually a clash with something in Ireland but there will be plenty of familiar faces to those who follow racing on the IOM and it's cheap to get in Icon_biggrin  (£23 for the weekend including a programme if you pre-book).  It's usually the last weekend of July, so stick it in your diaries!

Dan Cooper was the man to beat despite an excursion into the trees that sent his dad on a trip to the Midlands to get bodywork spares so he could race the next day!

Classic Karts have been on the programme the last couple of years and they're great fun to watch.  Must be scary as hell to drive though with all the mature trees around the place.  Unfortunately this guy wasn't in the entry list but this 250 Yamaha (RD250?) rig went like stink.  Sadly for him he got a close up view of the scenery shortly after I took this - didn't hear how it ended up but hopefully he was OK

It'd be right up your street Eddy.  Bring the Bugilow down on the Friday - do the weekend and head back on the Monday.  No rush.  Great little meeting and they always need marshals.

Have a look at the website.

As it's Wales bring some wellies and a good sized brolly.  This is Dan Cooper from 2013:

I think no.84 in the Aberdare pics is Mark Griffiths. Was the picture of Matthew Rees taken during the parade as I don't remember him being out with the classics?

Thanks for the heads up on #84.  The Matthew Rees shot was taken in a race as far as I can remember.

On to the MGP/Classic TT.

I arrived on the Tuesday of practice week having found out I was to be made redundant a few hours before Dodgy .  feeling a bit fragile so I just went to the QB to make life easy but then a gentleman called Barry Furber arrived, having forgotten that you shouldn't chuck it in hard on cold tyres and....

Great shots there Sticks , isn't it funny some times you go to do something feeling rubbish , and don't really feel like bothering, but when you get there everything falls into place and you end up having a good time , or in your case getting one of those special shots , full on action and more in focus than usual , ha ha ha

I like to spend some time around scrutineering in practice week before heading out to find a spot and I'm glad I did on the last night of practice.  Got this shot of our friend Gold Star Ron.  He looks so well and happy - hard to think he was gone such a short time later.

Richard Bairstow - the programme said it was an Aermacchi but I'd say that's a 350 Gold Star

Bob and Meredydd are brothers from Anglesey. Meredydd's son Heyfen also races.
