Nick "Splashdown" Jefferies Interview
Nick Jefferies - One on One

Recently I have been communicating with Nick via email, in order to put together an interview that we hope will make interesting reading for all of you out there, and to those on this Forum who know him as "Splashdown".

The interview is uploaded as a web page document - HERE

With a link to a .pdf file that can be downloaded for those who wish to read it at their leisure (off-line).

Many thanks to Nick, Bill Snelling of FottoFinders for the photographs and Benjies Dad for the unseen help and assistance in putting together the list of questions that were presented to Nick.

Malcolm.

Thanks for that Malcolm (and Splashdown!).

I wonder about the possibility of forming a 'library' of these of riders past & present, famous & not so famous?  Help us get to know and appreciate the competitors a bit more.

I often lament the absence of the little potted biographies you used to see in the TT Special as it gave you a bit of info on the riders that you just don't get now.

On the front page of this website, there is text link on the left hand side panel -  "Interviews"

If you click on that, you will go to a list of riders and "others" who provided interviews for the website in years gone by.

Such as Ian Simpson, Steve Hislop, David Cretney, John McGuinness, Ian Lougher and Kate Hoey etc...

Hopefully given some time we can start to update that section of the site once again.

Of course we need the co-operation of the people you would like to see interviewed, so anyone in the public eye who would like to do an interview for the site, get in touch.

I had seen the others - but, yes given a bit of time & co-operation it would be good to see if it could be expanded.  I know there are some competitors on the forum and many of the members must know some riders (I know a few) - of course, not all of them might want to do something like this but if you don't ask...

For my part I don't care if the rider is famous or not - I'd almost prefer to know more about the riders further down the grid.  They all entertain us and it would be nice to know more about them.

I'll make some enquiries of the ones I know in case they're interested in taking part.

It's always good to hear from riders. Good work Malcolm & BenjiesDad.

I enjoyed that and I also respect Nick's honesty.  As Sticky mentioned, it would be good to hear from all riders about their
Trials and tribulations about the TT/Manx GP or otherwise.

Nice set of questions , the earlier ones could form a base for any interviews you do in the future. I liked the one about the craziest thing you have ever done. The interviewie would see things in a more sane picture than maybe an outsider looking in !

Enjoyed that, there was a warmth and honesty to both the questions and answers. Well done all concerned.
I'd already read the older interviews and enjoyed them, but echo the comments above, some of the lower order riders stories would also be good.
One final comment will we see the Splashdown moniker get changed to Mr Google?

Excellent interview - I really enjoyed reading it. It would be great to see other interviews if riders felt able to give a little of their time.
