The countdown is now firmly on ahead of the 2015 Isle of Man TT Festival.

The Department of Infrastructure this week released information regarding the one-way system which operates over the Mountain Road during the fortnight.

The road between Barrule Park in Ramsey and Creg-ny-Baa will close on Friday, May 29, between 9.30am and 4.30pm.

When it reopens it will be one-way from Ramsey Hairpin to Creg-ny-Baa for the entire practice and race period.

On Monday, June 15, the road will close at 9.30am, reopening at 4.30pm when it will return to two-way traffic.

Letters have been sent to properties around the 37.73-mile course publicising the road closures, crossing points and access corridors.

One change which has been put in place for this year’s event is an extension to the access corridor from Douglas Road Corner in Kirk Michael.

Previously, the corridor only went as far as the north end of Kirk Michael village.

However, this year, the corridor will be open through to Ballaugh Bridge.

TT practice begins on Saturday, May 30, and continues from Monday to Friday the following week, with roads closing at 6pm each evening.

If everything goes to schedule, racing will get under way at 11am on Saturday, June 6, with the RST Superbike race, and conclude on Friday, June 12, with the PokerStars Senior TT.
