Sure revs up local Sidecar TT contenders

Karl Bennett and Lee Cain will race outfit number seven in the Sidecar TT

Local telecommunications company Sure, main sponsor of the two Sidecar TT races, is also supporting one of the leading Manx crews in the event.

Karl Bennett and Lee Cain had a very successful time last year when achieving back-to-back fifth-place finishes in the two Sure Sidecar TT races.

To celebrate the new partnership, Bennett and Cain joined members of the Isle of Man TT Marshals’ Association at a recent in-store event to raise awareness of the organisation and the essential work they do at the TT.

As part of the event, the Bennett Racing sidecar and the Sure Sidecar trophy were also in-store so the public could view them up close and, in the case of the bike, sit at the controls of a TT-prepared machine.

Bennett, who made his TT debut in 2005, is aiming to record his first podium finish in the forthcoming event.

‘It’s been great to be part of the sidecar races in recent years as they’ve got more and more popular and Sure’s sponsorship of the races is one of the reasons,’ said Karl.

‘Sure’s support of our team means that we can build on last year’s performance and give it a really good go on our home course. We can’t wait for the TT to get underway on Saturday.’

Sarah Jarvis, marketing manager at Sure Isle of Man, said:

‘The company has been involved in the TT for some time and this year we wanted to extend our support to help some up-and-coming home-grown talent.

‘Karl and Lee made an impressive appearance in the 2014 sidecar races so we were very keen to help them.

‘We are proud to support these local boys with their big plans and big ambitions! The team is tipped for great things at this year’s event and we’ll be there cheering them on.’

Both Karl and Lee have racing in their genes as their respective fathers, Tommy Bennett and Peter Cain, also competed in the Sidecar TT.
