Yeah, he's pulled this stunt before, 2013, rotten week, then won the Senior, outstanding again.

His genuine love for the TT must spur him on in the senior to make sure he has good bikes for comin back the next year.

First off, bow down to McPint - that was flipping impressive.

Secondly, speaking to a couple of blokes who have been involved in BSB racing and they reckon that Honda may have had a quiet word in his ear - not quite, "You're fired", but more like, "If you don't have a decent result in the senior then you'll have to retire and be Honda's ambassador for the TT. Or find a ride elsewhere." Dunno how close to reality that is, but given the result I'd say something has been said to fire him up - worked as well.

Pride that's what did it for him today not threats. Today he was magnificent . I like a lot of others had written him off as a winner and that fired him up I`m sure. Hats off to him I think all us doubters were willing him on and he mad us eat humble pie.
Fantastic a more popular winner couldn't have been had today.
Well done John.

I mentioned in a previous thread that I thought both JM and Bruce could have a good TT. Wish I'd had the courage of my convictions and placed the bet now, I'd be a few quid in hand now.

Outstanding performance from McPint today. The man is a legend!!
Guy Martin also put in a very strong performance too, a lack of practise time etc and a very poor start didn't help him but impressicve throughout the day.
Everyine in the top 10 deserves massive praise today. Hope Jamie Hamilton makes a full ans speedy recovery too.
Superb entertainment had by all!
Get on with it or shut up about it!

JM first Honda home in  stocker race ahead of BA, first superbike race messed up by slow pitstops  which prevented a solid podium, supersport race one more than respectable ride and times.

But not by his own standards - the result on the little bikes/stocker he could probably tolerate as he's not been winning on them for a few years, but the Superbike? Even without the pitstops he still wouldn't have won or challenged for the win. If he's not in the position to do that then he's said that he doesn't want to just ride around to make up the positions.

Let's see what happens in the senior.

He did ok

10mph down in the sulby speed traps on Hutchys PBM ZX10R, he could be doing with a new Fireblade, make his job a bit easier.

But well done JM130, always believed. It was also nice to hear, even at that pace, Roy Moore saying how smooth he was.

Well done John.

I wouldn't be surprised if a "word" was had by Tuxworth, and that got the pride fired up. And I suspect it wasn't a rant and rave that Tuxworth did - he just calmly made a few observations that he knew would push the right buttons (i.e, get JM's pride fired up). Good managers can do that.

John looked a totally different person getting ready and putting his lid on just before the off for the Senior compared to the Superbike race, Neil Tuxworth was right next to the bike and John for the Senior, don't recall him being that close for Superbike. I'll try and get my pics up t'row - just unpacking at mo

RE: Could this be JM130's last TT?
Winning a Senior, the race that has always been dubbed "The Blue Riband" is clearly on most TT racers 'bucket list'. It's pretty much always been held on the last race day - Friday, by which time most participants have had a good few laps - both in practice, and other races. Even if Sir McPint didn't exactly excel in other classes, he got a fair few 'sighting' laps, to plan his campaign for today's incredible spectacle. Lap records, nor 7 Senior victories come easy, and the man and machine were in perfect tune for yet another stamp on that much coveted trophy. Nobody can take his achievement away, in beating both younger and older riders to the finish line - and any suggestions he'd lost what it takes seem very banal tonight. I listened to the race on the radio, from Austin Texas USA - and missed the spectacle of seeing history being made, but - the excitement from the commentating crew was palpable, and it was an epic race - in every way possible. Thanks to Manx Radio for broadcasting it, to all the commentary team for spot on reporting, the organizers for making the absolute best of yet another 'difficult' fortnight, but mostly to JM for proving what sheer dedication can achieve.

That was just amazing stuff. For those in any doubt John was unbelievably aggressive on the bike yesterday. He was absolutely ragging it. What a day.

Maybe the Honda is geared for the mountain section?

RE: Could this be JM130's last TT?
Before the TT started Honda Racing were confident they had a good race bike for the Mountain course, and JM was in pretty good shape in mind and body, so the ingredients were in place, but at the sort of lap speeds everyone has been running this year everything has to come together at the same time, and in the Senior it did. It was a great team performance.

Always felt JM had the pace and ability to keep winning but I was starting to wonder if he was prepared to push as hard as some of the younger guys. Well he answered that yesterday! A very popular win & interesting to see his comments after the race, I don't think he'll be retiring just yet!

Or the Zx10R and S1000RR have an extra 20 ponies pulling them out of every turn,up every hill and along every straight.

Nothing wrong with the Honda which did 194mph down Sulby last year
