Apologies Gentlemen, I have inadvertently deleted all posts within this thread by mistake.

I am making efforts to retrieve the posts one by one, so hopefully I can recover them.

For me it would be 1992, with mixed and varied winners and machinery, Phillip McCallen, Brian Reid, Joey, Geoff Bell & Keith Cornbill and topped off with watching that special Senior in red hot conditions at The Bungalow with my lovely bride to be (one month later) Happy days!!

I've always enjoyed my TT visits but one that sticks in my mind was 1969. My brother and I went over on Senior race day on one of the MCN excursions (does anyone remember them?) and we watched from the grandstand, not my top viewing spot normally. It was a lovely day though and one of my favourites Dave Simmonds won the Ultra Lightweight and Rodney Gooch finished a fantastic 22nd on a BSA Bantam then another of my favourites Alan Barnett was second to Agostini in the Senior. Brilliant!!

1978....... my first year, and of course Mikes return.
11 years out of bike racing, a Ducati V-twin tuned by Steve Wynne of Sports Motorcycles in Manchester, beating Phil Read on the works Honda, brilliance at it's best!!

Yes, I agree and I would like you all to continue the thread here, or if you wish under a new Thread.

I have spent quite a bit of time this evening helping a member to sort out his postings with an included photograph and what happened was, after he had managed to successfully upload a post with a photograph, there was a duplicate posting that I was attempting to remove. I inadvertently pressed the delete Thread button, instead of the delete Post button, and well, you can see what happened.

Totally my fault, so again, sorry gents.

Malcolm.

1978 was my first year on the scoreboards as a scout, I grew up on the IoM and spent all my younger years been taken to watch and knocking around the paddock @ TT/MGP - still have all my stickers from the happy times, these are just a few, 1984 was my first year involved in spannering/pit crew for a rider and there was a fab variety of 2-strokes everywhere - Proddy race, F2, Junior, Senior and the big 700/750 sidecars then 1990 I got my first go at The MGP then 1994 my first TT, all favourite years for different reasons - have missed only 1 TT in 48. Don't remember the Honda 6's but was I born day after Senior 67 and Mum n Dad were out watching all the races, Senior from Hillberry as Doc's told them not to travel too far on closed roads from the Jane Crookall Maternity wing. Born into it, wouldn't be without any of it.

Try to remeber...
For me 1970 is the best. That was my first TT. As I'm a sound freak I remember the Triumph and BSA triple 750s on full gas. Good sound and good performance!
Ago on the 350 and 500 triple MVs as well and of course the works Benelli 250 and 350 machines with four cylinders. I will never forget the first morning in my tent 15 metres from the fence at Glen Louge. Didn't have a clue about morning training and when the first arrived in practice early in the morning the wakening up was quite brutal!
Don't be that optimistic! The light in the tunnel can be a train. Sad

Like I said before there have been to many good TTs but never a bad one to me I first went in 1962 and only missed a couple through college exams but the one that sticks out to me is the 1967 senior it was full of drama from the word go Hailwood v Agostini the sound of those bikes going down bray hill was awesome you could hear them for miles and the weather was very hot  good times!

RE: Favourite TT Year and Why
for me has to be 2004 not my first trip had been a couple of times in the 70s with my parents , but this was the first year I went with my then 7 year old son and a mate of mine ,  none of  them had been before got off the early morning ferry and headed for peel campsite joining the track at quarterbridge my hairs stood up as we drove down the track in awe as we where actually driving down the track and all the history that had gone down there before my son couldn't believe we where allowed on the track , I envy people going for the first time as that feeling I think you only get once magical

been every year since with my son until this year school holidays didn't fall in with it so had to miss as he had important exams same again next year Icon_cry

least favourite year 2014 arrived on the sat of practice week went to the grandstand on the sun for a look round felt unwell had a heart attack rushed to nobles flown over to Liverpool for op saved my life , very lucky boy didn't happen 24 hrs earlier on boat or wouldn't be here all manx people really helpful looked after my son couldn't do enough for us cant thank them enough

1965 sticks in my mind, as it was the first time I went over with my bike and also saw that epic ride by Mike Hailwood after coming off at Sarah's.

2002 as it was my first. We had booked for 2001 but it was canceled for FMD.
Came over with my wife on a rented Honda Blackbird.
So many special things about that week I can't even begin to list them.
Made all the newbie mistakes and loved every minute

1981 my 1st year Jock Taylor & Benga stood out for me,but 1992 Hizzy Foggy in the Senior was the best race.

It would have to be 1986 with the works Bimotas, Anders Anderson on the works Suzuki and Davide Tardozzi setting all the straw bales on fire at Laurel Bank.
