hi folks, looking for fastest speeds from kiwi rider dave hiscock from 1982 and 1983, he was on a big bike so would have been formula one and senior or classic TT at teh time, can anyone out there help please?, also where they took the speeds, as it wasn't always sulby straight

back around then the main speed trap was at the Highlander as I remember plus sometimes one was set up around the Creg - the one that got Mick Grant at 190mph or something on a kawasaki in the late 70s - don't think technology was as accurate and consistent as it now.  I think that as the bikes handled better and Quarry bends were smoothed and flattened it moved to sulby where it is now - can;t remember when they moved, no doubt one of the egg heads on here will know chapter and verse - to me the TT then was like the sixties, if you can remember you weren't there!

The year those crazy speed were recorded I think they took them from the drop down from the Creg to Brandish.

Was that the year the headline in MCN was "192 mph" for Mick Grant? Can't remember if it was 77/78 or 79!?!

Yes I think 77ish, and also a couple of TZ350's supposedly clocked over 170 mph, there was much discussion at the time about the accuracy of the equipment!!

A bit off topic, but I remember Dave Hiscock,(white leathers If I remember?)coming into the Raven Pub at Ballaugh Bridge, for a pint during a race in 1981,he must have retired nearby? I watched most of the race sitting on top of a phone box I think. My god it's nearly 40 years ago.
