Prohibited Areas
Out for a drive today and noticed that the whole of the Cronk y Voddy (including the popular fields at the end on the left) have Prohibited signs plastered everywhere. What is the score?

RE: Prohibited Areas
So pretty much the whole course apart from the extortionate fan zones is prohibited then.

Same as the NW 200 where the only way to get anywhere near the course is if you pay through the nose.

So glad I went all the years I did.
Grey-haired riders don't get that way from pure luck.

RE: Prohibited Areas
What's the difference between a prohibited area and a restricted one?

RE: Prohibited Areas
Prohibited = Nobody allowed in other than marshals and medics for a specific purpose, ie to retrieve a bike or treat a rider.

Restricted = No public allowed, just marshals, medics or other officials.

I think

RE: Prohibited Areas
The prohibited area is just the bit in front of the fence, you can still stand in the field behind it, that is what the pdf file in the link above says

RE: Prohibited Areas
Hopefully that's what they mean - this is the area / fence mentioned, it's a fabulous spectating spot, hoping it's not lost.[Image: tt%202016%20003.jpg]

RE: Prohibited Areas
Gorse- Lea looks a bit suspect there is no pavement in front of the wall so i can not imagine what they mean.

RE: Prohibited Areas
The wall is a restricted area according to Malcolms map. Maybe Harold ignores all the restricted area garbage and looks forward to bankcrupcy when the insurance claim arrives.

RE: Prohibited Areas
Over earlier than expected and been for a quick lap, Harrolds wall has been "modified" because of some building works behind by the looks of it - couldn't see any restriction signs, hedge/wall towards Gorse Lea marshal post looks ok the pavement mentioned is on the opposite side - this has always been restricted afaik, Cronk-y-voddy looks ok with signs only in front of mentioned fence. Ballagarey looks to have been resurfaced - very smooth now, did see a few signs saying "motorsport is dangerous" here and there but I don't think they restrict you from watching there just advice .... like we didn't know.

RE: Prohibited Areas
I think the prohibited areas look more worrying on the OS map rather than the actual situation in reality.
