The first weekend for Manx Grand Prix Newcomers seen a strong representation

Despite the demise of Flybe, the first weekend for Manx Grand Prix Newcomers seen a strong representation of riders from Northern Ireland and Eire joining 3 Manx residents and 10 riders from various locations in the UK.

2019 Irish Superbike Champion and former British Superbike rider, Carl Phillips from Belfast was joined by former 125cc rider, Gary Jordan, brother of TT rider Paul. 3rd in the Ulster Senior Support in 2019 Darryl Anderson from Coleraine was also joined by Dermot Cleary from Draperstown who gained 2nd place in the Irish Championship..

Local riders, Paul Cassidy, David Rigby and Frankie Stennett have raced on the Island, the UK and Ireland in their quest to gain experience to ride the TT Mountain Course.

Half of the 10 UK riders competed in the 2019 Southern 100 road races Kieran Brockie, Brian Fuidge, David Glossop, Albert Walker and Jason Wilkes.

Club President, Harvey Garton,  welcomed the riders and thanked all the ACU approved coaches for all their hard work and passing on their invaluable knowledge to the Newcomers.

A further Newcomers weekend will take place in 2 weeks’ time.
