Here's early doors for Sam Pato to have a pop at, poking my head through the grass ... where / who ?[Image: tt-2016-058.jpg]

RE: Who, What, Where, When?
Much appreciated - I need all the head start I can get.

I think its Sam West on the Ice Valley BMW.

At this time my best shot is that he's going through Hillberry in the wrong direction.

Cheers

Back towards Hillberry I should have said. Not the actual Hillberry corner.

Something about the telegraph poles....

I think I've got it but I resorted to cheating with the YouTube video again - so I won't spoil it for anyone else.

If I'm right its a fast place so good work getting such a good shot Alfie.

RE: Who, What, Where, When?
Would agree with Captain that it is the end of Cronk y Voddy. I have watched from the apex of that corner a few times. I can't comprehend how the top riders can take that corner at the speeds they do. Absolutely terrifying corner. Top riders only seem to lift off the throttle slightly then tip in, crossing a big bump caused by the road camber. My heart was in my mouth the whole time I stood there.

Also agree with Sam that it could be Sam West.

I done some sleuthing in regards to the last pic, and thought I had the rider. I trawled through old programmes and thought it had to be Mark Parrett on a stock BMW. So glad I got the rider as wrong as the corner. I gave up thinking it could be at Greeba as something didn't fit right, caravan up in the hill and the fact I thought the shot would have had to have been taken from far back with a zoom lens to get the sign in. Got the old grey matter working though. So thanks again to all who keep these teasers coming.

It's the end of Cronk y voddy. You've got to have a decent handling bike through there ........or the bike could throw you off.

Agree end of Cronk y Voddy - which might be called Molyneux s ?

Funny it wasn't till I looked on Google maps that I found out there's a church there!

Seeing the Ice Valley livery reminded me of Paul Shoesmith a true stalwart of the TT and sadly missed. I doubt his pit lane speeding record will ever be beaten - hopefully not anyway.. I threw a few quid in for a memorial bench some years ago. I've never seen it but I hope its in a nice spot with a good view of the course.

Thanks again Alfie.

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments/input and along with you all keeping Sticky's Backroom up and running, hopefully he'll return soon.
Sam West @ end of Cronk-y-Voddy .. a truly awesome speed and bike physics section, off-camber drop on the exit and a fabulous spec spot that thankfully still allowed into.
Got a few more from there - i'll put them up later.[Image: tt-2016-027.jpg]

I was lucky enough to hear and smell it Captain. Great to see a bike like that back. Pity it wasn't more competitive. I'm sure the old dog aboard gave it everything he had though! Will let others have a guess in-case they haven't spotted who and what!

Another great pic Alfie!

Tis Ian Lougher on the lovely Suter 500/575 which handled / steered through here like it was on rails and as mentioned sounded / smelled divine .... Ian Lougher winner of one of the epic(maybe less known) TT Races when he beat Steve Hislop by less than 2 secs in the 1990 Junior - averaging 115mph on a Yamaha TZ250A well before most of the course/corner "improvements", Ian and Hizzy were properly scratchin' that day, a great race on pedigree racing 2-strokes.

Tremendous pic Alfie! Thanks for sharing.

Could be a real collectors item too. Is it from the Senior in 2016? If so, would that make it the last time McPint rode a Fireblade round the Mountain course in anger?
