think you've nailed it there Nick or it's possibly bit further on towards Glen Helen approach ..... there's a stonking pic online of Sticky's going back to 1983 in the same area, be great if he could put it up on here ... you're much missed Sticky...
Hey guys - sort of doing OK. Had some real world issues to deal with and my head isn't in the game right now. I'm what Matt Hancock calls 'extremely clinically vulnerable' so I've been living like a hermit for a year now. Look like one too...I needed a haircut badly before the first lockdown and as for now...! I look like a cross between a faded 70s rock star and a meatball that's been kicked through a barber's midden..
Good to hear from you Sticky - hopefully you'll be vaccinated and freshly shorn before you know it.
Waiting with bated breath for the next installment from your archive. Thankfully some of the guys have stepped up whilst we're waiting - as usual I have had great enjoyment and not much success.
Yes, great to hear from you, Sticky, old bean, won't be long now!
With regard to the pic - Sprocket got the man, & along with Splashdown nearly got the location, Alfie got that! (Glen Helen 2?)
The banking looks so similar all along there I thought it may be difficult to pin down the exact location!
Yep just after st ninians. Not sure if you’re still allowed in there but I always reckoned the garage was a great spot to watch from. Also the scene of perhaps my most memorable tt moment. I suspect I’ve recounted it somewhere before but it might be worth telling again..... maybe a new thread.
Well done guys - all correct and Chris has nailed the exact location, my rallying/motorsport friends the Minay's live there one down from the telegraph pole ... some of the bikes are properly out of shape and having a proper "one" well before the lights and are still having issues as they disappear over the crest....i'll get the pics uploaded soon...
