The Blackford Financial Services Pre-TT Classic Road Races and the DAO Post TT Road Races which ‘book-end’ the Isle of Man TT Races get the action underway, afer an enforced two-year sabbatical due to the Covid pandemic.
July sees the welcome return of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Southern 100 Road Races which has attracted the top road racers, since 1955, including many future British and World Champions - riders of the calibre of Terry Shepherd, Bob McIntyre, Phil Read, John Hartle, Ron Langston, Selwyn Griffiths, Con Law, Brian Reid, Kenny Harrison, Joey Dunlop, Dave Leach, Phillip McCallen, Jason Griffiths, Bob Jackson, Robert Dunlop, Ian Lougher, Guy Martin, Cameron Donald, Ryan Farquhar, Michael & William Dunlop and Dean Harrison, have all ‘cut their teeth’ around the 4.25-mile Colas Billown course in the south of the Island.
Sidecars arrived in 1962 and from the early days the ‘cream of the charioteers’ have provided the unique thrilling action that only the three-wheel crews can, again TT winners and World Champions have graced the meeting, from Charlie Freeman to the seven times Sidecar Champion, Tim Reeves.
As race organisers, Southern 100 Racing are currently planning for next year and will have everything in place for road racing to resume on the Colas Billown Course.
Our partners, The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Limited are already publicising their comprehensive timetables of sailings for 2022 which can be found at
http://www.steam-packet.com .
It is also perhaps a timely reminder to everyone travelling to the Isle of Man, by whatever means to make sure that you have sufficient health insurance. The reciprocal agreement between the Isle of Man Health Service and the UK National Health Service only covers initial emergency treatment in hospital. Any addtional service must be (hopefully) covered by personal insurance, or you could end up paying! (Competitors are covered in the case of a racing incident).
Southern 100 Racing look forward to welcoming back fans old and new to the three ‘friendly races’ held on the Colas Billown Course since 1955.
Full information and updates can be found on the club’s official website,

Southern 100 Racing are very much indebted to our race headline sponsors, Blackford Financial Services, DAO Holdings, and the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company for their much valued and connuing support after a two year absence from racing.
In the meantime, keep well and stay safe and see you in 2022!
