i was going to take a picture when i seen it just a couple of minutes after it happened wish i had now
the wall on the left was totaly demolished and the one on the other side was damaged and the new BMW looked a write off (the driver said thats me out of a job ) i would guess maybe 80 in a 30 limit

About time the police started looking more closely at all the yuppie financial comeovers with a view to road safety.Seems to me that they are a far greater risk than motorcycles.It is the same in the UK.They seem afraid to target them,finding bikers easier meat.PS Eric,you could have made a killing with a front page photo!

On a slightly different theme, rumour has it that work is about to start on opening up Brandish Corner. Many of the famous railings on the inside of the corner have collapsed anyway, and I hear that they are going to be removed completely, opening up the inside of the corner a little like Brandywell and Windy Corner have been in recent years. I don't know for certain if this is true, but if so it will completely alter the appearance of one of the best-known corners on the Course.

Not enough damage for the corner to be faster !
Sure enough as Eric says it'll be rebuilt before
the TT.

There's a posting on the message board of <A HREF="http://www.realroadracing.com">www.realroadracing.com</A> today, which states :

"Going back to my earlier posting about possible works here I now have it on reasonable authority that the railings & bank are to be removed and the inside of the corner will be flat for about 3 metres.This ia supposed to go right down to the lane about half way down the straight."

In a dream I had over the weekend I saw a long straight from Kates Cottage to Signpost !!

Perhaps the IOM government might give consideration to restoring the vintage
look of the course in areas where it can; after all that is what a lot of visitors come to experience.
Nothing tacky but the odd Castrol sign and hedges etc
I think it is about time to put something back rather than keep taking it away.
There are plenty of historical photos from which they could model the landscape.

I love the film "Field of Dreams" starring Kevin Costner.......Perhaps we need to push for a similar set up on the Island.

at the old favourites places where its now
'Prohibited Area', the good old days.
I think if one wants to watch in an area where
considered dangerous aand prepared to take the risk, should be allowed. I know its the 'Health
& Safety' thing, perhaps they can get everyone
to sign a form to say the risk taken are 'entirely
at ones own risk.
Then again it wouldn't stand in 'court'.

well have to disagree with you we used to stand on the halt sign behind the arrow at may hill but no way would anyone stand there now (even if some would like me to ) so places that were safe are not now

Well that's the danger of our beloved motorcycling....
Motorcycling is a dangerous sport !! Not as many deaths as fishing....

And yes its got faster and the best places we
used to watch from are not as safe as they used to be ! Too many cc's again, after banning the
big ones they brought them back again ! And they
are saying that the four lap F1 and Senior races
is for safety !

You would get a great view if you sat at the end of Sulby straight
on the outside just before the bridge.
Or on the outside of the Bungalow would another good spot Eric!

Must be Bottom of Barregarrow; the exit on the outside.
Being safe there in the late sixties meant not dangling your legs over the bank!
