Marshals
Great news on the marshalling front. At times this year there were over 1,000 marshals in use. A lot more than the minimums and a credit to the marshals association who have massively upped their game on many fronts. Possibly now attracting a younger crowd as well. Access to training has been easier. I did the Incident Management Course locally to myself, my wife will follow and my daughter intends doing it during practice week next year. Whoever instigated the cavalcade a while back has made life much easier.

I second that, I'm afraid I like taking my photos & videos too much, but maybe one day!
I noticed that there was Marshals 'merch' available behind the grandstand this year, T shirts, cups etc !

RE: Marshals
I'm over for the manx and seriously considering signing up for practice week. Complete newbie but feel it's time to give a bit back.

I arrive Monday evening at 6 pm, too late to marshal that night.

Question.... If i fill in the online registration prior to sailing, do i "sign on" on the evening I arrive?

If you give the marshals office a call they can let you know how to sign on. I don't think the office is open in the evenings. Have you done the online course and test? It's pretty straightforward. 01624 618191

I've not done the online course yet. I'll do it prior to sailing, likely within the next couple of weeks. I've got time for now.

Thanks for the reply though.

RE: Marshals
Thanks for all your help / support / time - it's greatly appreciated and this year as Smokin H says we have had a lot of marshals signed up and out on duty much earlier in practice week, this makes getting all the 12 sectors locked down and signed off easier and means the following session starts on time.
You can do the online course at the TTMA tent but would advise getting it done before travel then you can sign in to a sector where you might have a preference to be stationed.
I'll be at MGP doing Response Car thing again and usually at Paddock / TTMA office/tent 60-90mins before leaving to my start point on the course if anyone needs a chat or help or ask the guys and girls in TTMA office.

If you register and do the online training in advance, you can pick the sessions you can do online - you choose where you want to be on the course and the relevant Chief Sector Marshal will be in touch closer to the time with more details. You'll need to go to the tent behind the grandstand to pick up your jacket, warrant card and a few other bits. Enjoy Smile
