edit - some reports say 30 couldn't fit on the Ben, some say 60.

Manx GP getting worse and worse! remnants of hurricane Ernesto expected to arrive later as well!

MV Arrow has been parked in Larne for the last two weeks, presumably Steam Packet could crew her for freight only runs if the Manxman is out of service for a few days.

RE: Manxman has 'incident' at Heysham 21/08/2024
I'm wondering how it's going to work, if there were too many people to fit in the Ben for the 02:15hrs sailing, then , when the 02:15hrs boat is cancelled tonight (just my opinion!) how are over 2 boat loads of people going to fit on the 14:15hrs tomorrow afternoon?
Plus the fact that Manxman is due in drydock next week anyway, will they rush to fix it this week, if it's a major job?

From Facebook
Still stuck at Heysham, conditions so bad that new ferry had to berth wrong way round hitting vehicle loading ramp at front and hitting berthing structure at back corner hence hole in it,Ben Mc Cree coming to get as many of us as it can, still gale force conditions, you couldn’t make it up🥴🥴MGP2024🏁?

Reserve freight only ship MV Arrow on its way to Heysham, eta 2100hrs, at least that will allow Steam Packet to fill the Ben with tourist traffic and not carry loads of freight like they appeared to do last night and left tourists on the key.

RE: Manxman has 'incident' at Heysham 21/08/2024
I was thinking about that this morning, Chris.
If the Ben was contracted/full of freight, then the vehicle space available would determine how many passengers they could take.
I thought it unusual that they had to leave folk behind on a 02:15 hrs sailing.

I think it's going to get worse in the next 24 hours, before it gets better!

Bored with this nadgery windy cold November garbage now .... hate to say it but I could quite happily leave the place now - the grey gloom and nagging wind that just won't go away kills my spirit.

Manxman apparently back in service tomoz .. Steam Packet says Manxman should be back in service tomorrow evening - Manx Radio

If the wind don't get you the rain will!
Must be the worst weather I have experienced ever for racing.
Looking forward to next year it can't be worse could it?
