I am staying in a cottage a short way up the side road form Sulby Bridge.
One sunny morning last year, during practice week, I walked up there and sat on the marshalls bench, soaking up the atmosphere. It was an amazing moment. Apart from the bird song, it was silent.
It didnt take me long to hera in my head, Renzo Pasolini, going down through the box as he came into view and, with that lrid riding style, scorched over the bridge and away.
I know we have great riders now AND amazing machines, but I am glad I witnessed those halcyon, heady days of the 60s, especially.
I have just bought a gadegt for storing digital pics straight from the memory card.
It also allows the storage of music and i have some 15 albums on there.
Then, guess what??! I sudenly eremebered the Stanley Schofiled LPs which I know also have on CD! So, I "ripped" 'em and will listen to them as I am on the Island.
This time, as I sit alone at Sulbv Bridge, I really WILL hear Jim Redmans "fiendish" Honda 6 and so much more.
