Isle of Man 2006 Tourist brochure
I just received the 2006 glossy brochure from the Isle of Man Department of Tourism and Leisure in today's a mail. It's very nice - 36 pages of glossy colour photos and text telling me why I should take my next vacation on the Island.

On pages 14 1nd 15, after pages devoted to boating, walking, hiking and cycling, there is this:

"Stand by for the adrenaline rush. If you want action, the Isle of Man can deliver in large doses.
Two specialist centres dedicated to extreme sports and outdoor pursuits invite you to throw yourself into sea kayaking, gorge walking, power boating and other challenging sensations.
Holiday thrills and excitement are also guarenteed by popular Island activities such as sailing, diving, karting, mountain biking and a whole wave of watersports.
Of course, for many the ultimate kick is the roaring success of the annual TT festival and summer road racing programme.
All of which naturally makes the Isle of Man an extremely sensible choice for a holiday of high-thrills."

There is a small box with this text:

"Action Events 2006
The packed programme includes:
-TT Festival Fortnight
-Other road racing events such as Southern 100, Manx Grand Prix, Manx International Car Rally and Peel Karting Grand Prix.
-Stock car racing
-Honda Formula 4 Power Boats,
-Festivals of angling, bowling, hockey and football."

I guess that says it all, doesn't it? Oh, well at least we were ahead of the angling and bowling festivals LOL!

By the way there are 107 colour pictures in the brochure. The largest spread across two pages. The TT gets three - all approximately 2"X3" , one is a racing shot, one is the back end of dragster shooting flames ( at least I think that's what it is! ) And the third is of someone sitting on a parked bike - rather pathetic , if you ask me.
What do the rest of you think?
Cheers, Harry
