Last minute crisis for TT
The ACU has announced that there may be serious disruptions to this year's TT due to an oversight on their behalf.
Local identity and car dealer (name withheld) has been found not to possess a TT Course Licence and will not be able to drive the Roads Open Car on the Mountain Course this year.
After long consultation with the TT manager, rider's representatives, MMCC committee and Govt, it was agreed that if a previous TT winner could not start due to the absence of a licence then the rule must apply to anyone venturing out on closed roads.
Mr Parker of the ACU said there is a clause in the 1907 rules that allows for the course to be opened by a gentleman running ahead of the riders with a red flag, so talks are being held with the IOM running and walking clubs to see if any of their members have a TT Course Licence.
Considerable delays can be expected but we hope all fans will understand and cheer on the red flag bearer as he passes your vantage point.
Rest in Peace Don Simons 1942 - 2012
