Nothing wrong with Bob Collins at all. At the time he was, Like Mercer, a leading Superstock rider and went to the TT without the benefit of doing the Manx. His TT debut didn't really do him justice and I hope the same thing doesn't happen to Steve Mercer.

It just seems to me that talented riders are targeted to go straight into the TT without doing the MGP which I feel shouldn't happen (my opinion)

It get the feeling that the MGP dosen't count for anything anymore.
