RE: Manx GP regs and entry form
Dear Competitor

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the Manx Grand Prix in 2009, the most sporting races of the year and are very pleased to announce our new race programme which includes a Post Classic race which is the first one of its kind to be run on the TT Mountain Course. As this is the first year we have kept the Post Classic regulations as flexible as possible and after this year’s event they may be subject to change for 2010.

You may well have read about the changes to the eligibility for the Lightweight class which allows TT competitors and former MGP winners to compete and changes to the eligibility for the Ultra Lightweight, Junior and Senior Manx Grand Prix races.

Due to the escalating costs of running the event, including postage we are encouraging all competitors to download the regulations, entry and other forms. On our website (http://www.manxgrandprix.org) you will find a copy of the 2009 MGP Supplementary Regulations, Entry Form, ACU Mountain Course Licence Form, Press Form and various other forms for completion. However if you have any problems downloading and printing the forms, please contact us and they will be posted to you.

Some very important information we would appreciate you taking note of is as follows;

§ The final closing date for entries is Saturday 13 June

§ Entry forms received at our office after Friday 2 May will automatically incur a surcharge of £25.00. Modern, Classic & Post Classic Newcomers will be exempt from this surcharge

§ Where we can we will send you an email to confirm your entry has been received by us.

§ Once received, we will notify you as soon as we can if your entry has been accepted or held in abeyance. Details of Steam Packet discount for competitors will be sent with our confirmation of acceptance.

§ All entries are subject to the issuing of a Mountain Course Licence by the ACU.

§ The Mountain Course Licence application form on the website must be completed and returned to the ACU, at the address shown on the form. The closing date for a licence application is 14 July and you must ensure the form and 6 sets of results are received by the ACU prior to that date as they will not accept late entries. The issue of such a licence by the ACU does not guarantee your acceptance into the event.

Finally, please visit our website http://www.manxgrandprix.org and keep up to date with the latest news regarding the 2009 Manx Grand Prix. You can read about the recent successful visits by some of our enthusiastic MGP Ambassadors and 38 potential Newcomers, supported by the Mike Hailwood Foundation and still one more visit to come!
