We are all entitled to our opinion and to read into statements by others as we see fit, however ZEV Motorcycle Racing is in its embrionic stage and I believe the TTXGP Race was a measured success given the time factors and Riders involved, no I am NOT having a go at the ZEV 2009 Riders, I am however always mindful how ZEV racing can evolve and the need for the very best Riders to participate asap. The LAST THING that all forms of ZEV Racing needs is infighting, blame games etc.
Having said that, I offered the most 'critical comments' prior to the 2009 TTXGP, mainly with regard to Electrical Safety for Riders, Marshalls and First Response Personnel, production of MSDS Sheets etc. These comments were further driven following the KERS electrocution and other incidents in F1, yes they are related from an Electrical Safety perspective. I also believe there will inevitably be a marriage of TTXGP, FIM and TT Zero standards of machinery and safety procedures allowing ZEV Racing to expand at a drammatic rate world wide. BTW I believe it already is and that within the next five years ZEV Motorcycles will be achieving very creditable lap times, comparable with ICE machinery at all circuits throughout the world. In that period I expect all the major Manufacturers currenty involved in WSBK and MotoGP will enter ZEV Racing and be in mainstream production of ZEV Motorcycles for the masses.
Personally I am delighted the TT Organisers have embraced ZEV Racing at the TT on a permanent basis, a very smart forward thinking decision.
