The event was promoted by Ulster Centre Sports Promotions Ltd.

The accident happened on the opening lap of the the second Open Clubman's race. Entering the hairpin, the slowest corner on the circuit, Sam Martin and another rider touched and both riders crashed out at a relatively low speed. The other rider was treated for a suspected broken wrist. Sam Martin had finished ninth in the first Open Clubman's race held earlier in the day.

The event incident officer together with the PSNI will carry out an investigation into the accident.

All of us at TTwebsite wish to extend our sincerest condolences to the famly and friends of Sam at this sad time.

It is always so very sad when somebody looses their life. Sam was a fine rider and always gave of his best, he will be truly missed. My prayers and condolences go to his family and friends.
