TT hero John McGuinness will ride with the SMT Honda British Superbike team at this year's Macau Grand Prix following a successful test at Oulton Park.

The Morecambe Missile was without a ride for the season-ending road race but after a discussions with team boss Robin Croft, the pair have done a deal for McGuinness to race with the squad under the ING Sorrymate.com banner.

"I'm very pleased to have secured John to ride for us at Macau. He is a proven winner at the track and we're looking forward to a great weekend. John tested with us at Oulton Park and that went extremely well so I think we are in good shape for the race," said Croft.

"John has been very successful at Macau with plenty of wins and podiums to his name. I think that taking our team out there will give him the package he needs to continue that form and we are definitely looking at a top-three finish."
