RE: Bob Mac 1962
About ten years ago Race Mission researched the possibility for permission to build/finance a memorial garden or wall somewhere in Nobles park. Our idea was a memorial for all TT and MGP riders that were no longer with us. There were some very strong feelings for and against the idea, some of the against's thought it a morbid idea and has no place in the vicinity of the TT paddock, however these same people thought the same about the Race Mission tent in the paddock. some people wondered about the insurance implications if somebody was injured, eg, falling over something !. The for's were all for it, offering to contribute help, ideas and in a couple of instances quite considerable financial help. However it became obvious that after talking to some powers to be, and unofficially to a member of the house of keys that this idea would not get anywhere. After speaking to Bill Snelling he suggested a memorial at the Bungalow area, but some people thought that was out of the way and seemed to say Nobles park is the place for it.

What do YOU think ?.
